2. Nigel Atkinson
The artwork for this plate draws inspiration from the Neo Classical architecture set within a romantic, landscaped, garden and focuses on the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, actual and imagined.
Nigel Atkinson is an artist interested in creative crossovers between painting, words, textiles and objects. His work explores relationships between the interior and exterior and the play of light on surfaces and space.
Nigel Atkinson Studio is the umbrella for NA creative activities and has a history of 27 years, working on projects for residential and commercial spaces, supplying architectural textile panels and fabrics. Working with craftsmen from the U.K., India, Nepal and Japan he fuses historical and cultural references with a spontaneous approach to making. His paintings and drawings often, “psychological landscapes”, explore the creative impulse and are concerned with the momentary, movement and stillness.
He lives and works between London and Pyrénées-Orientales in the South of France.
